Meet the Players
Frank is a mild mannered guy until he grabs his racket. His true competitive nature springs to light. His long reach and quick responses combine to put his opponent on notice that trouble is ahead. Also, beware of his backhand slam as it is always just out of reach.
Barry looks so unassuming as his cut defensive style of play lulls his opponents into inaction. Then out of nowhere, Bam! a forehand slam...then Bam! a backhand slam. His love of the game is evident by his dedication to improvement.
Andy uses a traditional handshake grip. His forehand topspin shot causes problems for his opponents. His back hand is quick with a rapid cross court precision shot that usually scores. It is very difficult to return. His technique continues to improve, while bringing a savvy approach to his game.
One of the mantras of the group is
"You Gotta Move Son".
It is important to keep those feet moving.
Lazius is the newest and youngest member of the group. He comes from a tennis background and racket sports come naturally to him. This quickness and the area that he covers is noteworthy. He continues to improve and is already very competitive. He brings fun and a certain style to the game.
John is a left handed cut specialist. He plays with small pips and is aware of the confusion they cause. His helicopter drop shot just hovers over the net with precision catching his opponent completely out of position.
Doug, the white knight, plays the game with an unabandoned enthusiasm. Many of his shots are smooth, and have been termed "Peanut Butter - Jelly Time".
Carney is known for his defensive style. He keeps the ball in play until his opponent makes a mistake. He also plays the spin game to add confusion to the table.
